We are “dead” set on keeping leaves out of the landfill

Despite implications of this photo, we do not currently accept human remains...

Don't be a ghoul and put them in plastic, add them to your compost bin to be repurposed. Even if you're not a member, we can stop by on the route for a one time pick up. We'll take your pumpkins too!

As the plants prepare for winter they shed their leaves. We collect these fallen resources to have new soil ready to boost spring growth. With Missoula Compost’s curbside pick up service, it has never been easier to get rid of that pile of leaves while being reassured they are going to the right place!

Missoula Compost customers can put organic fall materials straight into their compost bin for no extra cost. Material can also be set beside the bin in paper lawn bags.

  • Additional material beside your compost bin costs $5 for every three bags.

  • Paper bags for collecting leaves and other organic lawn/ garden material can be purchased at Ace Hardware, Tractor Supply Company, Home Depot, Lowes and other home improvement stores in the area.

  • Make sure you use a plain brown paper bag with no wax lining; some logo and text is okay but less ink is better.

Any natural material left over from events like cider presses, canning, or pumpkin carving can be composted. Annual plant stalk, perished garden material, and fallen fruit from trees also makes great compost. Keep an eye out for natural materials and be creative! Nature gives us all kinds of gifts, thank you for taking the time to give a little back.

Let's show Missoula what is possible!

As always,

Happy Composting!
