Event Compost Collection
Self Service Option
With this service, you can host a DIY zero waste event even on a small budget! Great for weddings, graduation parties, or other small events.
You pick up the bins at our store in the Home ReSource building at 1515 Wyoming, ST E prior to your event. We provide bags and bins that are clearly marked and color coordinated for sorting. Following your event, you bring them back along with the material you collect. When possible, leave the trash and recycling at the venue in their applicable dumpsters. Bring the compost back to our office and we haul it away. After hours drop off is available!
$20.00 per set of bins (compost, recycling, and trash). Includes 1 bag each
Additional bags are $2.00 each

The Green Team
The Green Team was developed to keep Missoula’s event waste streams clean. The Green Team supports events by helping participants and spectators sort waste into the correct stream: recycling, compost, or landfill. Missoula Compost donates regularly to Home ReSource’s Green Team.
Volunteering for the green team is a great way to support the community and raise awareness about sustainability efforts. Every volunteer sets a local precedent by practicing core values, leading by example, and setting expectations for a clean community.
Green events mean less impact, which means more events! It’s hard to lose with The Green Team on your side!
