Show Your Love By Composting

It is never a waste to appreciate the little things.

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time."

–Sir John Lubbock

The natural world has always been a part of the human world, both shaping our surroundings and nurturing our spirit. Through the hustle and bustle of daily life we find solace in the woods, waters, and mountains. These beautiful places are a source of inspiration, reflection, and nourishment.

Composting is a great way to reciprocate love to our earth and soils.

Composting strengthens our very foundation, restoring nutrients to the soil so it can reproduce the plants we eat and flowers we adore. Composting is a joy, not a task; a privilege, not a mandate. It compels us to practice patience and notice small, incremental positive changes; which is always cause for celebration.  We love nature because it gives us life, the least we can do is give back what we have not used.

This Valentine's Day, show your love for the earth by composting your flowers. Their wilted petals and soggy stems are packed with nutrients that will nurish new bloom.
