Free admissions every day!
11am to 10pm August 5-9 and 11am to 8pm August 10.
The Carnival opens at noon every day.
Public parking opens 7:30am
There is ADA accessible parking at the Stephens Avenue entrance, and public parking available at the Russell Street entrance.
Sustainability Goals
Last year, with the help of our community, the Western MT Fair was able to divert 82% of waste from our local landfill. Of that, 73% was diverted to compost, and 9% was diverted to recycling. Due to the efforts from Home ReSource, Missoula County Department of Ecology and Extension, Missoula Compost, and Western MT Fair vendors, the diversion rate increased by 9% compared to previous years.
With only a week away from the 2025 Western Montana Fair, we need your help to beat last year's record! Our goal this year is to divert upwards of 90% of waste produced. Your participation and enthusiasm for sustainability is essential to reach this target. There are many ways you can help:
Be informed!
As an individual, it may not feel like your sustainable actions mean much when compared to the huge amount of waste a community can produce. However, an individual action can influence those in your community to choose sustainable alternatives. By educating yourself on waste diversion, you can empower your friends, family, and other patrons of the fair to reduce their environmental impact.
What YOU can do:
Bring a reusable water bottle
Be sure to put waste in the correct bins (If in doubt, find a member of the Green Team!)
Utilize sustainable transportation! Some of our favorites are the Mountain Line and riding our bicycles.
Educate those in your group about the difference between compostables, recyclables, and landfill waste.
Join the Green Team!
Are you dedicated to sustainability AND love the Western MT Fair? We’ve got the gig for you. Volunteers set an example by showing other people in our community that Missoula can and will do what it takes to stay green. Engage with the community, meet new people, and spread some knowledge on waste management.
For every 3 hour shift on the Green Team the following perks are available:*
*One perk available per shift.
Daily unlimited carnival ride pass (one per person).
Ticket to an arena event of choice (Xtreme Bulls, Bulls, Broncs & Busters, Missoula Stampede Rodeo and Lords of Dirt). See full arena events here.
$25 in Food bucks (can be used at any food vendor at the Western Montana Fair - excluding carnival vendors)
Give to the green team
Don’t have the time but still want to support the cause? Green Team Sponsorship is the way to go!
For every sponsorship dollar contributed to the Fair, over $9 is redistributed back into the local economy. Any donations to Home ReSource and the Green Team support the vital efforts to reduce waste.
$10 : Fund resources for the Green Team
$25 : Train a member of the Green Team
$50 : Add an extra staff member to support the Green Team during the Fairs busiest hours.
$100 : Help vendors source compostable products with backstock available at the Fair. This makes the job of the Green Team exponentially easier.
We support the Home ReSource Green Team and will be collecting compost bins daily at the fair. Any bit of engagement towards sustainability counts. We look forward to seeing you at the Fairgrounds!
